My main artistic focus lies in creating sculptures of the female torso in glass, using colour and pattern to create a visual representation of my emotional and mental state at the time of creation. By making these sculptures I am challenging my idea of being “female” the ideals and expectations ingrained due to my body. By placing the individual sculptures together, they speak to the collective effect of these experiences and emotions, reflective of how they build and shape our identities. This piece is part of those explorations from my thesis year at Sheridan College.
